The signposted Trilho da Chã da Franqueira begins and ends at Largo da Igreja de Arga de Baixo. The circular trail is five kilometres long; its approximate duration is two to three hours. This combination makes the trail a practical option for an active excursion in which the landscape and the surroundings of Arga de Baixo belong together.

The Santuário de São João de Arga is classified as a National Monument. The pilgrimage dedicated to São João Baptista still takes place every year towards the end of August.

Arga de Baixo is also home to the Capela da Senhora da Rocha, built in 1828. Its façade features granite reliefs. South of the chapel stands the Cruzeiro da Senhora da Rocha, which is up to four metres high. Another distinctive destination is the cemetery of Arga de Baixo, with its numerous richly decorated granite steles. Folk motifs relating to death, eternal life and hope give this place a distinctive expressive quality.
