Tábua: Culture, Trails and Landscapes along the Mondego

Tábua combines impressive cultural experiences with trails through a varied landscape. Other trails also reveal different sides of the surrounding area. On the PR1 Caminho do Xisto de Midões, the small Rio Cavalos is a scenic attraction in the Sumes area. The PR2 Caminho do Xisto de Sevilha passes the Rio Cavalos, a waterfall, old mills and a medieval bridge. The Ponte romana dos Sumes is approximately 50 metres long, spans the Rio de Cavalos, has a roadway about 3 metres wide and a single semicircular arch. It was probably part of the Roman road connection between Bobadela and Viseu.
