Górno itself offers points of historical interest; other leisure and cultural attractions are located elsewhere in the municipality. Historical connections and a memorial site in the village sit alongside water activities, a ski slope and viewpoints in the municipality. This makes it easy to decide how to plan your holiday: you can focus your stay more on local history or combine different leisure and nature experiences.

Water, slopes and views

The reservoir in Cedzyna is located within the municipality. Covering 65 hectares and offering opportunities for swimming, sailing and fishing, it provides several ways to spend time by the water. This range of activities appeals to different interests; at the same time, the size of the lake gives you a concrete sense of the landscape that awaits you here.

Krajno has a ski slope with a 1 km-long run. This brings a different focus from the reservoir: here, the length of the run is a practical point of reference for planning. Sabat Krajno, a leisure and miniature park, adds a viewpoint to the mix. It is located on a hill, offering views over the park and parts of Świętokrzyski National Park, as well as Łysica. The water, ski run and viewpoint each offer a different focus for your holiday days.

Church history and remembrance

For a focus on cultural history, another point of interest is in Leszczyny. The church dedicated to Saint Jacek Odrowąż is considered the oldest church in the municipality and was founded in 1610. The year provides a specific historical reference point for this place of worship.

Inside the church is a marble plaque bearing an epitaph for Wincenty and Józefa Żeromski, the parents of Stefan Żeromski. Both are buried in the nearby parish cemetery. The plaque and burial site connect the memory of the two to a clearly identified place in Leszczyny.

Górno itself also has several points of historical interest. The village was mentioned as early as 1400 as the property of the Bishops of Kraków. The Górno parish has existed since 1935; its first parish church was built that same year. These two dates represent different perspectives on the village’s history: an early mention and the beginning of its parish history.

A monument in Górno commemorates 23 Poles who were shot by the Nazis on 5 August 1944. This memorial site adds a specific date from more recent history to the older historical connections. If you would like to explore different eras during your trip, the village’s history, its churches and the remembrance of this event offer distinct points of interest.

Choose a holiday apartment to suit your travel plans

If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Górno, first consider whether you want to focus your stay on the village’s history and memorial site, or also visit destinations across the municipality. For the latter, the water, ski slope and viewpoints offer different experiences rather than focusing on just one kind of excursion. This lets you tailor your search to the combination of history, water and nature you have in mind.
