Cultural traces on the southern edge of the village
A wooden chapel from the first half of the 20th century stands on the southern edge of the village. Inside is a statue of the Virgin Mary. A wooden cross, enclosed by fieldstones, stands directly beside the chapel.
Another cross on the southern edge of the village is made of wrought metal and stands on a stone base. Its Cyrillic inscription commemorates the 50th anniversary of the abolition of serfdom on 17 February 1911. Wood, fieldstone, metal and stone give the markers different forms; the inscription adds a specific historical reference to the chapel and wooden cross.
By bike or on foot
A variant of the Green Velo cycling route passes through Borsuki. If you plan to take this route, check its current condition before setting out. The Nadbużański Szlak Pieszy begins in Kózki and runs upstream through Mierzwice and Serpelice to Borsuki. Borsuki is therefore the endpoint of this walking route. The two routes offer different ways to plan your journey: a cycling route variant through the village and a walking route that ends here. Before setting out on a specific ride or walk, it is worth checking the current route and its condition.
The nearby landscape
Between the villages of Borsuki and Gnojno, in Nadbużański Landscape Park, lies the “za Borsukami” viewpoint. It is a natural terrace on a sandy escarpment about 30 metres high above the Bug. Its approximate height and position above the river describe a striking landform, quite different from the cultural markers on the edge of the village.
In the area of Mierzwice and Zabuże is the marked “Trojan” nature trail, with six educational stations. Uroczysko Trojan is also located in this area and includes extensive meadows, oxbow lakes of the Bug and natural woodland. Lake Trojan is permanently connected to the Bug. The nearby area thus offers both trails with educational stations and a landscape of meadows, oxbow lakes and woodland as distinct areas to explore.
