The nature and forest educational path of the Sarnaki Forest District runs through the woodland of the Mierzwice forest range. A section about 500 m long follows the steep bank of the Bug River. The surrounding nature therefore includes both forest and a specific stretch along the riverbank.

The Zabuże Nature Reserve lies on the Bug River between Mierzwice, Zabuże and Hołowczyce. Its location between these three villages gives you a clear point of reference if you want to include nearby places as well as Stare Mierzwice in your plans.

Uroczysko Trojan is also located in the Mierzwice and Zabuże area. The area includes extensive meadows, oxbow lakes known as Bużyska, and natural woodland.
