Culture and History

Rynek Trybunalski is the central point of the medieval urban layout. The Royal Castle of Piotrków Trybunalski was built between 1511 and 1519; today, it houses the Museum in Piotrków Trybunalski. It has around 17,000 objects from the fields of archaeology, history, ethnography and art.

The Great Synagogue of Piotrków Trybunalski was built between 1791 and 1793. The Great and Small Synagogues now house the State Archives in Piotrków Trybunalski.

The Many Cultures Trail is a 1,273-metre-long route highlighting historic buildings and sites connected with the multicultural past of Piotrków Trybunalski. It runs from the former station of the Warsaw–Vienna Railway to the former building of the Great Synagogue.

Landscape and Water

The “Nad Bugajem” ecological reserve lies within the administrative boundaries of Piotrków Trybunalski. It covers a 35.8-hectare section of the Bugaj Reservoir and adjacent areas.

Belzacki Park is a former manor park that was converted into a city park after 1945. It contains a 0.8-hectare body of water.

At Słoneczko bathing lake, there is a walking trail suitable for Nordic walking.

Culinary History

The oldest surviving written reference to beer from Piotrków Trybunalski dates back to 1487.
