Geographical location
The Gmina of Tomice lies in the Skawa Basin on the border between the Wieliczka Foothills and the Silesian Foothills. Elevations range from 240 to 411 metres above sea level. The Gmina of Tomice is also located along important routes connecting Wadowice with Kraków via Skawina and with Oświęcim via Zator.
Tomice is associated with the regional sculptor Wincenty Bałys, who was born there.
Hiking
Two lowland hiking trails, marked green and yellow, run through the Wieliczka Foothills in the Gmina of Tomice.
The Wadowice–Tomice–Woźniki–Zator hiking route begins at the Chapel of Saint Florian in Tomice and leads past a former manor house, sports fields and fishponds towards the Skawa Valley.
