Accommodation in Ostrów Wielkopolski
Ostrów Wielkopolski offers options for different kinds of holiday: paths wind through Park Miejski im. Adama Mickiewicza, while the Co-Cathedral of St. Stanislaus the Martyr provides a cultural focus of its own. The “Reggae na Piaskach” festival was held at the reservoir, and Park Przygód Piaski Szczygliczka also has high ropes courses. This lets you choose between outdoor activity, architecture and an active excursion for your trip.

Park paths and outdoor activities
Park Miejski im. Adama Mickiewicza has numerous paths for pedestrians and cyclists. This offers different ways to explore the park: you can cross it on foot or plan your cycling tour around the available paths. The park also has an amphitheatre, where open-air concerts and folk festivals take place. The walking paths and events appeal to different interests: one focus is outdoor activity, the other is shared cultural and festive occasions. When planning your stay, you can consider whether you would rather spend time on the park paths or choose an event as the reason for your visit.
Park Przygód Piaski Szczygliczka offers a different kind of active pursuit. It has three high ropes courses with varying levels of difficulty. Together, they are more than 500 metres long. The different levels give you a specific choice within this offering; at the same time, the high ropes course is a separate activity and is not the same as a walk or a bike ride. When planning your day, it is therefore worth distinguishing between a leisurely circuit on the paths of Park Miejski and the courses in Park Przygód. Each option has a different focus, and you do not need to combine them into a single route.
Architecture and cultural history
The Co-Cathedral of St. Stanislaus the Martyr was built between 1905 and 1907 in the Neo-Romanesque style. It was based on a design by Sylwester Pajzderski, revised by Roger Sławski. This history gives the building a clearly defined place in the city’s past and makes it a point of interest for travellers interested in architecture. The co-cathedral and its associated ensemble of buildings were entered in the register of monuments on 8 January 2007. If culture and historic architecture influence your travel choices, you can make this ensemble a separate sightseeing focus. The park and its paths and the architecture represent different ways of getting to know the place.
A festival at the reservoir
The “Reggae na Piaskach” festival was held for the 26th time at the reservoir in Ostrów Wielkopolski on 10 and 11 July 2026. As a cultural reference point, the festival complements the architectural and park-related experiences with an event. Consider whether you are mainly interested in the co-cathedral and the ensemble of buildings, prefer park paths and outdoor activities, or are interested in the festival’s history.
