Przygodziczki: Equestrian Culture and Local History
Accommodation in Przygodziczki
A riding trail runs through Przygodziczki, and the village is also home to an equestrian centre and the Folwark Jeździecki Jurand. There is also a cycling route and traces of the village’s history. Travellers looking specifically for equestrian culture, outdoor activities and historical discoveries will find a range of themes here to consider when choosing where to stay.
A village with a history of its own
Przygodziczki belonged to the Radziwiłł estates from the outset. After the emancipation of the peasants, the village was founded in the 1840s on what was known as wasteland. The residents who settled there came from Przygodzice. This history gives the village a specific historical connection: it tells the story of a settlement and where its first residents came from.
In the centre of the village, a chapel with a figure of Jesus stands at the intersection of the main roads. It is a prominent religious landmark. Visitors interested in small religious sites and local history can include it in their exploration of Przygodziczki. Nearby, at the Jezioro settlement, there is also a cross bearing an image of the Black Madonna of Częstochowa. It stands on the so-called Mikstacka Road, which runs from Strugi, and commemorates children who froze to death during a hike in the First World War.
Equestrian culture and special events
Folwark Jeździecki Jurand began in 2000 as an equestrian centre founded by Jerzy Kątnego. Over the years, it developed into a modern restaurant and educational complex. Przygodziczki is also home to several agritourism farms. Together with the riding trail through the village and the equestrian centre, these places shape the destination’s equestrian character. If horse riding or horses are important to your trip, you can consider Przygodziczki as a possible location for your holiday apartment.
“Hubertowiny” also takes place every September in Przygodziczki. The event “Hubertowiny – Galopem po karpia” has featured mounted archery demonstrations, equestrian performances, weapons from the era of the Polish nobility and historical battle re-enactments; a fox hunt was also part of the programme. This mix of equestrian displays and historical presentations is especially appealing to travellers who want to discover local traditions and events as well as the surrounding area during their stay.
Exploring by bike
The POS-219 cycle route runs from Przygodziczki towards Antonin and crosses national road 11 along the way. If you want to include the cycle route in your trip, you can take this connection into account when choosing your destination and planning your stay. A riding trail also runs through Przygodziczki. Cycling and equestrian culture thus offer two distinct ways to enjoy the trip, without needing to combine them into a single route.
Przygodziczki as a holiday destination
When looking for a holiday apartment, the key question is which themes you want to focus on during your holiday: equestrian culture, the cycling route or the village’s history. Przygodziczki offers specific points of interest in all three areas. Families can decide together which of these interests they want to shape their stay around; the places and activities mentioned provide different options, although not every activity will suit every age. If you want to explore several places, you can also combine Przygodziczki with other destinations: Raszków, Sulisław, Czarnylas, Przygodzice, Antonin, Rososzyca, Radłów and Odolanów.
