A trip to Aukra can combine historical impressions with outdoor activities. On Gossen, these include the daffodil field and Aukra Church, as well as the Riksfjordremma Trail and a 20-kilometre coastal cycling route. Sea kayaking and fishing offer further options. The Riksfjordremma Trail: on the way, with breaks

The Riksfjordremma Trail starts in Falkhytten at the artificial-turf sports field by Gossen Primary and Secondary School. There are plenty of benches and rest areas along the route. At Riksfjordremma, there is also a shelter and a fire pit. The route description therefore includes both opportunities to take breaks along the way and a specific landmark at the destination. The route is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. If you are travelling with children or using a wheelchair, this information is especially relevant when planning an outing together.

Falkeparken is also in Falkhytten, in the centre of Gossen, right next to the Aukra care centre. A falcon-catching hut once stood there. The park’s name and its former use point to a local history distinct from today’s walking and cycling activities. Church and daffodil field on Gossen

Aukra Church was built in 1835 and has an octagonal shape. The daffodil field on Gossen is next to the church. Its history dates back to the 18th century, when the priest Alexander Borck planted the first daffodil bulbs. The church and field offer two different ways to enjoy a cultural visit: one through the distinctive architectural form and year of construction, the other through the early planting and the person associated with it.

An annual kite festival is held every summer at Røaleira Beach. If you want to make the festival the occasion for your trip, bear in mind when planning that it takes place in summer.

Cycling, kayaking and fishing

The coastal cycling route on Gossen is 20 kilometres long. On the water, sea kayaking in Aukra takes you between island groups, reefs and sandy beaches. There are different ways to enjoy the outdoors: a set cycling route, navigating by sea kayak or fishing at any of the places mentioned.
