Veere: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The landscape of the Municipality of Veere combines dunes, polders, forests, country estates, coastal waters and beaches. It can be explored on foot, by bicycle, while swimming and sunbathing. In addition, there is Lake Veere: it is the water sports area for Walcheren and the surrounding region and is suitable for sailing, surfing, diving, water skiing, canoeing and swimming. This means that different landscapes and activities come together in one place.

Landscape

De Manteling van Walcheren is a varied nature area between Domburg and the Veerse Gatdam. Its landscape includes historic country estates, ornamental gardens, dunes and deciduous forests. At the same time, De Manteling is considered a classic country estate zone with forests, stretches of dunes, perfectly straight avenues and winding paths. Oranjezon lies between Oostkapelle and Vrouwenpolder. The area includes dunes, forests, dune valleys and open grassland. There are four hiking trails as well as excursions led by nature guides. Another specific trail connection is the Boswachterspad Veerse Bos: the marked hiking trail is 5.7 kilometres long and starts at Het Veerse Gat campsite in Veere. It follows the water, passes creeks and reed beds, and runs through the old Veerse Bos.

Water

Lake Veere comprises 17 islands. Five of them are specifically designated for birds, while the other twelve islands are accessible to visitors. The body of water has a circumference of 22 kilometres and is suitable for long bicycle tours. In addition, the Best-of-Nature cycling route runs from Veere for 53.8 kilometres. These figures each represent different facets of the area: islands, circumference of the body of water and a designated cycling route.
