If you are looking for holiday accommodation in Evertsoord, you can expect a destination where nature, village history, activities and regional treats come together. The options range from peatland and cycling to golf, church and monastic history, as well as farm visits. This allows you to choose your holiday accommodation based on the experiences you want to shape your holiday.

Nature and cycling in the Peel

Mariapeel is a natural area that is only partly accessible, with a varied landscape of peatlands, peat lakes and a section of woodland. The De Zwarte Plak area lies on the border of the church villages of America, Evertsoord and Kronenberg and can be explored on foot or by bicycle by residents and tourists. Water management in De Peel affects the western edge of the village.

Active days and village life

De Peelse Golf has an 18-hole championship course and a 9-hole par-3 course. Club members, visiting players and interested visitors are welcome there. The “Cycling through the Peel and its villages” cycle route passes through Evertsoord. Evertsoord Day is considered the village’s annual highlight and adds to the opportunities to experience the local community and landscape actively.

Churches, monastic history and places of remembrance

At Bajescafé, dining is combined with a permanent exhibition entitled “Detentie anno nu”. From April 2022, Bajescafé was located in a former monastery with an adjoining church. The Bajeswijnsafari combines this exhibition with a wine safari. The Onze Lieve Vrouwe Onbevlekt Ontvangen church in Evertsoord was consecrated in 1956. It was intended as a monastery church for the Paters Oblaten van de Onbevlekte Maagd Maria and was part of the “Ter Peel” monastery complex. The Mariakapel chapel on Drie Kooienweg in Evertsoord was built in 1948. The construction of the Mariakapel chapel on Paterstraat marked the official beginning of Evertsoord. The Kamiël van de Piël is a landmark on the De Zwarte Plakheide and tells the story of the adjoining De Zwarte Plakheide area.

Farm visits and regional treats

Wertemerhoeve is a suitable stopping point that you can combine with cycling or hiking, followed by some time at the farm and something delicious. Wertemerhoeve offers freshly prepared farm ice cream and regional products. The ice cream is made from the milk of its own cows.

Choose holiday accommodation in Evertsoord based on your holiday ideas

When choosing holiday accommodation in Evertsoord, you can use your preferred daily rhythm as a starting point. Interests in nature and activities can be combined with the landscapes and cycling opportunities, while churches, monastic connections, the exhibition and landmarks add historical accents. A holiday apartment or holiday home can therefore suit a holiday in which you want to alternate between landscapes, activities, history and culinary enjoyment.
