History and culture

Nearby Fort I of the Kaunas Fortress is open to visitors. Celebrations, guided tours and educational activities with horses take place there. The fort was built between 1882 and 1889 and reconstructed from the late 19th to the early 20th century.

The sculpture “Dviračio skulptūra” in Ringaudai was created by the sculptor Danielius Sodeika and the architect Violeta Beigienė. The “Ringauda” folklore ensemble sings the songs named there and contributes to passing on the singing tradition in this region.

Nature and landscape

The nearby Obelynė Park covers approximately 6.5 hectares. It is a botanical park founded by the naturalist and professor Tadas Ivanauskas on his estate in Akademija.
