Nature and views
The observation tower is located in a protected area and is most conveniently reached on foot or by bicycle. Birštonas’s natural landscape also includes Vytautas-Jurgis-Meška Park: it covers 25 ha of woodland in which not a single tree has been felled.
Spa history and culture
The Birštonas spa house is one of the few surviving buildings of its kind in Lithuania and was added to the list of architectural monuments in 2006. Classical music concerts have been held there since its opening in 1855.
Most of the exhibition at the Birštonas Museum is devoted to the town’s spa history from the Tsarist era to the present day. The museum is located in a building that has been included on the cultural heritage list.
The Church of Saint Anthony of Padua in Birštonas is part of the sacred cultural heritage. Built between 1900 and 1909, the church is Neo-Gothic and constructed of red brick.
Mineral water and educational programmes
The Birštonas Museum offers educational programmes that can be booked in advance, including a programme about the town’s mineral water springs. At the Birštonas Museum of Sacred Art, visitors can also take part in the educational activity “Kvepiantis Birštono banginiukas” and bake special biscuits shaped like the whale symbol of the spa town.
At the “Druskupis” mineral water evaporation facility, visitors can try inhalations outdoors in a pavilion with mineral water fountains.
