Holiday apartment in Enego between history and mountain landscapes

Enego brings history and mountain landscapes to life in many different ways. If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Enego, you can plan your stay around historic buildings, protected natural areas, a marked walking trail or seasonal sports. This allows you to plan a holiday in Enego as a balance between exploring, walking and observing.

Torre Scaligera and Santa Giustina Cathedral

Torre Scaligera is located in Piazza San Marco in the centre of Enego. It was built around 1330 on the orders of Cangrande della Scala and formed part of a larger square fortification. The tower is approximately 22 metres high. It houses a permanent historical exhibition featuring archaeological, geological and medieval artefacts. Santa Giustina Cathedral was built in 1792 at the top of a high flight of steps; it contains an altarpiece by Jacopo Da Ponte.

Fortification history and notable figures

Enego's military history is also clearly present: Forte Lisser was part of the Fortezze Brenta–Cismon fortification system, whose purpose included controlling the Valsugana. Forte Coldarco is a restored First World War fortification in Enego. Egidio Fontana was a palaeontologist and palaeoethnologist from Enego.

Piana di Marcesina and Palù di San Lorenzo

Piana di Marcesina lies at an altitude of approximately 1,300 metres and features extensive pastures and large forests. At higher elevations, rhododendrons, mountain pines and edelweiss grow. Palù di San Lorenzo is a protected marshland with distinctive botanical and faunal characteristics. The landscape therefore brings together open areas, woodland and special habitats.

Educational trails and walking paths

The Sentiero Panorama is an easy walking trail from Stoner to Monte Spitz. It is marked with signposts, some of which have QR codes that provide access to an audio guide. The Connessione delle memorie is a 7.5-kilometre educational trail with six points of interest. It connects Marcesina and Valmaron via an old military road.

Summer, winter and special facilities

Piana di Marcesina is used by hikers and sports enthusiasts in both summer and winter. Valmaron has a small ski area for alpine skiing. The municipality of Enego provides a Joelette, an all-terrain wheelchair. These aspects can help you take the desired balance of activity, nature and quieter discoveries into account when choosing your accommodation.

Santa Giustina and Enego cuisine

Enego celebrates the feast of its patron saint, Santa Giustina, on 7 October. The Fiera di Santa Giustina includes a product exhibition where typical Enego cuisine can be sampled. In addition to its buildings and landscapes, the town is therefore also represented by a set date rooted in local tradition and connected with culinary culture.
