Holiday apartment in Crocemarroggia amid pilgrimage, forest and farm culture

On 22 April 2025, a jubilee pilgrimage began at the church in Crocemarroggia. On foot, it led to the Madonna di Panico – Regina della Pace sanctuary. The route therefore had a clear religious destination.

The walking route of this pilgrimage covered almost 6 km. Along the way, there were four meditation stations. For personal planning, the almost six kilometres can be considered as a separate route and the four meditation stations as breaks. The distance and stations thus complement each other as different planning parameters for the same walking route.

Pilgrimage and the old procession tradition

On Easter Monday, residents of the surrounding districts walk to the Madonna di Panico sanctuary. This recalls an old tradition in which three processions arrived in Panico, including one from Crocemarroggia. The residents’ present-day walk is thus connected with this procession tradition. For those interested in culture, this provides a specific religious occasion on the calendar.

Forest landscape and trails in Catinelli

Catinelli is home to an extensive forested landscape between the valleys of the Torrente Marroggia and the Torrente Tessino. Catinelli is considered a destination for hikes and mountain bike tours. The forest landscape, valleys and the two activities give a stay there a clear character focused on nature and physical activity. Hiking and mountain biking therefore represent different forms of movement within the same landscape.

During the hand-harvested grape harvest, visitors to Agriturismo San Vito can observe the entire winemaking process. Green space and community activities

The equipped green area in Crocemarroggia is part of the municipal network of multipurpose spaces for sporting, social and community activities. Development of this network began in 1988. The area therefore stands not only for sporting use, but equally for social and community activities.

For 2026, the free holiday camp “Anch’io sono la Protezione Civile,” announced again by the Comune di Spoleto together with local civil protection volunteers, was scheduled to take place. The planned period was 28 June to 4 July 2026, and the planned venue was the Circolo Ricreativo Auser Insieme on Via Casette di Crocemarroggia.
