Fosdinovo’s municipal trail network includes CAI hiking trails, two stages each of the Lunigiana Trekking route and the Sentiero dei Ducati, as well as a section of the Via Francigena. Historical Traces

In 1340, Castello Malaspina was transferred by the nobles of Fosdinovo to Spinetta Malaspina. The Oratorio della Compagnia dei Bianchi has a white marble façade dating from the second half of the 17th century. The Chiesa Parrocchiale di San Remigio dates from the 13th century and contains the tomb of Galeotto I Malaspina. Nearby, the Museo Audiovisivo della Resistenza offers in-depth multimedia historical content and educational trails on the Resistance and the establishment of democracy in Italy.

The Festa Medievale takes place on the first weekend of July. Ponzanello Illumina is an annual festival held at the end of July. This means that July offers two specifically dated events to consider when planning a trip.

Views and Nature

A walk near Le Prade offers views across the Magra Valley to the sea, as well as of the islands of Palmaria and Tino. Near Posterla, the Quercia Secolare is one of the monumental trees of Tuscany.
