Osilo between the annual calendar, cultural heritage and mountains
Osilo combines a fixed date in the annual calendar with historic buildings, archaeological evidence and nearby surroundings where several mountains are located. The Corsa all'anello takes place in Osilo every year on 12 August. Anyone wishing to plan their visit around the town's annual event has a specific date for this. The existence of Castello Malaspina is documented for the year 1272.
San Lorenzo: Mills, language and earlier production
San Lorenzo is a district of Osilo, about six kilometres from Osilo and located at 281 metres above sea level. The area lies in the Valle dei Mulini; in the Osilo dialect, it is called “mulinu”. There are 34 watermills and two fulling mills there. In the past, they produced flour and Orbace for the entire area.
Necropolises and Nuraghe: Architectural Forms of Archaeology
The necropolis of Ittiàri consists of eight underground tombs with architecturally designed façades; all are oriented towards the southeast. The necropolis of Iscalas is located in the municipality of Osilo and consists of three single-chamber underground tombs, which are also oriented towards the southeast. In both necropolises, the direction is the same, while the number and arrangement of the tombs differ: eight tombs contrast with three single-chamber tombs. The Nuraghe Sa Pala 'e Su Cossu is one of the best-preserved monuments and retains its tholos completely.
Traditional Costumes, Churches and Buildings
