Torre di Capo Mannu: History and Panoramic Views

The Torre di Capo Mannu was probably built between 1572 and 1577 as a watchtower and signal tower to protect the salt pans and the numerous tuna fishing facilities.

After passing through the centre of Putzu Idu, the Torre di Capo Mannu can be reached from Sa Marigosa via a narrow signposted road. Vehicles can get to within approximately 300 m of the tower. The route is therefore relevant both from the starting point at Sa Marigosa and in terms of the road through Putzu Idu.

The Torre di Capo Mannu offers an excellent 360° panoramic view.

Getting There via Riola Sardo

From the SS 292 at the entrance to Riola Sardo, continue for 2.3 km and then turn towards Putzu Idu. After another 11 km, you will reach the beach. The journey can therefore be divided into the section up to the turn-off and the subsequent drive to the beach.
