A special tradition is the Corsa degli Scalzi. This religious ritual has been repeated for more than 400 years on the first Sunday of September. The route leads for seven kilometres from the Church of Santa Maria Vergine Assunta in Cabras to the village of San Salvatore. The town is therefore shaped not only by a single day of festivities, but also by a religious tradition documented over a long period.

The Museo di Cabras displays archaeological finds from the municipality of Cabras. The museum opened in 1997 and houses the Giganti di Mont’e Prama, considered one of the most important archaeological finds in the Mediterranean region. The festival is scheduled to take place in Cabras’s historic centre on 18, 19 and 20 September 2026; dishes based on bottarga will be offered for tasting.
