The S'Archittu natural arch is about 15 metres high and is the remnant of a former sea-erosion cave. Recognised as a natural monument, it defines the character of the village. The arch consists of marine, partly sandstone-like limestone from the Middle Miocene; these rocks are approximately 15 to 11 million years old. The natural arch was shaped by the erosion of the sea and the atmosphere in fossil-bearing detrital limestone containing echinids and bivalves.

S'Archittu lies within the Parco naturale del Sinis-Montiferru nature park. The village is located where the volcanic hills and mountains of Montiferru meet the flat sedimentary coast of Sinis. This combination of different landscape forms makes S'Archittu an interesting destination for anyone who wants to experience rocks, landforms and natural contrasts during a coastal holiday. The landscape is complemented by three mushroom-shaped islets smoothed by the waves.

Beaches, Seafront Promenade and Paths

Spiaggia Stella lies at the southern entrance to S'Archittu. It is a long, narrow beach with light, greyish-looking sand and pebbles. The large rock La Balena protects Spiaggia Stella.
