The area around the hamlet of Sorano features steep slopes and abrupt changes in elevation. The elevations range from approximately 320 metres above sea level to 250 metres near the valley floor. A particular connection with wine is reflected in the Sorano–Serralunga d'Alba vineyard site: it comes from vineyards below the hamlet that look towards Diano d'Alba from the main ridge. Bric Cupazzolo hill is also located in the wider regional area around Sorano. The natural arch Arco Trionfale likewise belongs to this wider regional area.

The Barolo area is also associated with Le Cecche. In 2010, the company acquired a vineyard in Sorano di Serralunga d'Alba, an area known for the quality of its grapes. Alongside its slopes and panoramic views, the landscape therefore also has a clearly recognisable winemaking character.

The “Cantine Fontanafredda – Serralunga d'Alba” route reaches the hamlet of Sorano via paths through the vineyards. After Sorano, it follows trail marker 304A towards Parafada and Serralunga d'Alba. Another connection is provided by the “Grinzane Cavour – Sorano – Diano d'Alba” route, which reaches Sorano after approximately 40 minutes.
