Valle Dorizzo combines mountain landscapes with specific destinations for hiking days, winter activities and excursions in the surrounding area. Lakes, peaks, specific trailheads and a castle offer the area a range of themes for trip planning. The destinations are spread across locations directly in Valle Dorizzo and the surrounding area. In addition to the lakes and peaks, there are several starting points for routes.

Mountain lakes and peaks

The Laghetti di Mignolo are glacial lakes surrounded by red rocks and red earth. The colors of the rocks and soil provide a different accent from the elevation of Monte Mignolo. Monte Mignolo reaches an altitude of 2,111 meters and can be reached from Valle Dorizzo via the CAI route beyond the Mignolo lakes. Monte Mignolino is a peak in the immediate surroundings of Valle Dorizzo. For trip planning, lakes and peaks can be noted as separate destinations. For nature enthusiasts, this combines views of glacial lakes with orientation along a mountain route.

Hiking routes with specific starting points

The hike to Passo delle Cornelle can begin in Valle Dorizzo on the way to Balotto Alto. Another route to Pozza dell'Orso begins to the left of the chapel in Valle Dorizzo. The two hikes therefore differ not only in their destination but also in their location within Valle Dorizzo. When preparing for a hiking day, the two starting points can be noted separately.

For the CAI-415 route to Monte Mignolo, the parking area of the Remal campsite is located next to the church in Valle Dorizzo. This parking area provides another starting point in Valle Dorizzo, in addition to the path to Balotto Alto and the chapel. When preparing for the CAI-415 route, this parking area can be considered as a separate starting point together with the church.

Winter activities

In winter, ski mountaineers particularly use the route to Dosso del Matto after heavy snowfall. Ice skating is also a winter activity in Val Dorizzo. The cold season therefore brings together two clearly distinct focuses: the route for ski mountaineers and ice skating. These activities can be considered separately in seasonal planning. The route to Dosso del Matto and ice skating thus represent two different winter themes for a stay in Val Dorizzo.

The “Lago della Vacca – Val Sanguinera” route begins and ends in Val Dorizzo. This establishes a route with the same starting and ending location for day planning. The same starting and ending location creates a loop route associated with Val Dorizzo.

Castle in the surrounding area

Castello di San Giovanni is a castle in the area surrounding Valle Dorizzo. Its location distinguishes it from the routes that begin directly in Valle Dorizzo.

For your further trip planning, Manerba Del Garda, Rudiano, Artogne, Trenzano, Toscolano Maderno, Picedo, Pertica Alta and Gottolengo may also be of interest.
