Memories of 1848–49
The Jókai Mór Memorial Room recalls the period after the Revolution and War of Independence of 1848–49. It also commemorates Jókai Mór, Telepy Károly and Muraközy János: after the suppression of the War of Independence, the three went into hiding in Tardona. The memorial room thus connects a significant historical event with the story of the people who sought refuge in the village at the time. A nighttime team hike
At the Tardonai Éjszakai Túra, teams are challenged by skill and knowledge tasks. Torches and starlight light the way. The route is 7 kilometres long: it leads from Jókai-ház to the Ökoturisztikai Látogatóközpont in Mályinka and then back to Tardona’s Sporttelep. The tasks and the route give the hike two distinct aspects: teams are challenged along the way while following a set route with named stops. Interactive cultural activities
The interactive museum education programme “Tardonai bujdosók” explores historical events and local legends through play. The activity connects with themes that are also relevant to a visit to the Jókai Mór Memorial Room. “Virágos kenderem” offers a different approach: participants learn about the process from growing hemp to making linen and try out traditional tools. Here, the focus is on taking part in a production process, while “Tardonai bujdosók” explores history and legends.
You should arrange participation in both interactive activities with the venue.
