The certified “Schwarzatal” panoramic circular hiking trail also passes through Katzhütte; it is 135 kilometers long in total. One trail connection leads to a named destination, while the other places Katzhütte on a longer circular hiking route.
Gold panning is possible at a designated site from June to September. A 9.64-gram gold nugget was found there in 2004. If you want to plan around this seasonal activity, check in advance whether it is currently available.
