Borsfleth: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Borsfleth, guided cycling routes lead through meadows and fields. The Mönchsweg runs through the village, and the 46-kilometre Stör-Törn cycling tour follows the Stör dyke through Borsfleth. Culture

St Urban's Church in Borsfleth was first mentioned in a document in 1307. Its 40-metre-high tower was built in 1899. The oldest item in the inventory is a Romanesque granite baptismal font. The church contains an Ecce Homo painting from the former Baroque altar dating from 1646. The carved oak pulpit dates from 1638, was made in the workshop of Jürgen Heitmann in Wilster, and was donated by the Möller family. The church is also home to the work A Picture for Peace, created in 1983 by the Borsfleth painter Kokemüller. South of the church is the parsonage, a thatched Husmanshus, also known as a Krüzhus, dating from 1816.

Townscape

At the entrance to the village, the old Verlath lock and its bridge over the Kremper Au mark the entrance to the village. One of the last brick-paved roads in Steinburg district runs through the church village.

Rural hiking trails follow the dykes and lead through the Stöpen.

Water

Borsfleth has a purpose-built marina operated by the SSVB. The Elbe, the Stör and the Kremper Au flow through Borsfleth. Canoeing is available on the Elbe and the Stör in Borsfleth.

Getting There

Borsfleth is connected to the Hamburg Transport Association. Rail connections are available from Krempe or Glückstadt. Bus stops in Borsfleth provide connections towards Itzehoe and Glückstadt. The Hohenfelde exit on the A23 is approximately twelve minutes away.
