Kuddewörde: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

The Church of St. Andrew in Kuddewörde was built around 1500 from fieldstone and brick. Its interior includes returned medieval carved figures, figures of the apostles from the late 17th century, a crucifix dating from around 1500, a depiction of the Last Supper from the late 17th century, and a Madonna and Child from the 18th century.

The Grander Mill is also part of the village’s historic character. It combines the historic character of a mill with gastronomic use; features include small rustic dining rooms, clay-plastered walls, old paving, milling equipment, and historical prints and pictures. The historic grain watermill, located in the Duchy of Lauenburg, was first documented in 1248. A weir system, an old mill wheel, and millstones have been preserved. It was restored in the 1980s and placed under heritage protection.
