Großröhrsdorf is situated on the Große Röder and is the center of the historic ribbon-weaving industry in the Röder Valley. Culture

The Technical Museum of Ribbon Weaving displays historic looms, many of which are still operational and demonstrated during guided tours. Today, it is housed in the Kulturfabrik, a former ribbon-weaving factory in the town center.

Großmann family villa, and the J.G. Schöne ribbon and webbing-weaving company.

The 62-kilometer Product Route passes by the Technical Museum of Ribbon Weaving in Großröhrsdorf. It connects craft businesses and demonstration workshops offering regional products and enables visits to direct marketers and retail outlets for regional products.

Massenei Pool is located in the Massenei Forest and offers a woodland setting for swimming and recreation. The water surface covers more than 2,400 square meters; the stainless-steel pools are heated with solar energy. The facility includes four 50-meter competition lanes, a diving pool, and diving towers with heights of 1, 3, and 5 meters. Two large water slides are 61 and 66 meters long, and there is also a wide water slide. Large lawns, a children's playground, and a separate parent-and-child area complete the grounds.

The 7.6-kilometer Sagenpfad trail runs through the Massenei and is suitable for cycling and hiking, offers seating areas, and includes ten legend panels. The approximately 13-kilometer Massenei circular trail connects urban and natural areas of Großröhrsdorf. The Kleinröhrsdorf circular hiking trail is a relaxed day trip within the Großröhrsdorf district of Kleinröhrsdorf. The Hauswalde circular trail leads over the Krohnenberg, Kesselberg, and Thunigsberg and connects with the hiking trail network of Rammenau and the Buschmühle natural swimming pool.

The section of the Röder cycle route through West Lusatia is approximately 30 kilometers long and is described as an easy route without any significant climbs.
