Culture and history
The Eisenhammer Technical Museum is a historic, water-powered hammer mill associated with the iron ore mining industry of the Ore Mountains. The site also includes a local history room and a chair factory with its original machinery.
The present appearance of Dorfchemnitz Church dates from 1802 to 1804. The approximately 40-metre-high tower acquired its current form in 1705. The organ was built by Johann Christian Kaiser in 1803 and moved to the gallery by Karl Gottlieb Jehmlich in 1834. The first records of the church date from around 1550, during the Reformation.
Blockhausen features an exhibition of wooden sculptures created by chainsaw artists from around the world. The world’s longest table is also displayed there. Blockhausen is described as a forest and wood experience centre associated with Dorfchemnitz.
