Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Hergisdorf can then continue their accommodation search. St. Aegidius Church is a late Gothic rubble-stone building made of regional Zechstein limestone. It has a rib-vaulted entrance hall and a Martin Luther relief dating from 1571. The interior contains preserved late-medieval furnishings, including a late Gothic carved altar of the Virgin Mary, an early 16th-century tabernacle, a sandstone pulpit, and carved choir stalls. Visitors can arrange guided tours of St. Aegidius Church in Hergisdorf; recurring concerts and exhibitions organized by the Friends of St. Aegidius Church are also held there.

Events

Hergisdorf's annual Whitsun tradition includes the Dreckschweinfest. Costumed participants portray winter and summer in a mud ritual, accompanied by whip cracking and a procession to the Wildbahn forest site.
