Möckern Palace Park was laid out as an English landscape garden in the late 18th century and is a designated landscape monument. At Möckern Palace, the 1813 Local History Room accepts bookings for guided tours; opening hours are available on request.
St. Laurentius Church was probably originally a Romanesque basilica and was remodeled several times during the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Traditionally, it is attributed to a foundation established by Emperor Otto I after his victory over the Hungarians on August 10, 955. On April 5, 1813, Bülow and York defeated Eugène Beauharnais near Möckern.
Nature
Möckern is connected by the Wörmlitzer Wald nature education and adventure trail as well as five named cycling or hiking tours: Elbauentour, Herrentagstour, Forsttour, Badetour and Powertour. The trail uses practical nature experiences to promote understanding of nature among people of all age groups.
The Heimchensteine are two large glacial erratics originating from Norway or Sweden that were transported here about 20,000 years ago. Between them is a chamber associated with a possible prehistoric burial or cult site.
