Drewitz lies along a former major medieval east-west road. It continues to be used as a connection between localities and provides routes from the village towards Brandenburg, Burg, and Magdeburg.
Schad's Mill was Drewitz's most important historical landmark: a sawmill powered by an overshot water wheel and described as the last still-operating sawmill of its kind in Saxony-Anhalt. In 2006, it was destroyed by fire.

The village church on Hauptstraße in Drewitz belongs to the Gloine Protestant parish, which serves Drewitz and several surrounding villages. The building is a Neo-Romanesque brick hall church built in 1897, with a tower featuring a stepped gable. Preserved historical features include stained-glass windows depicting Christ as the Good Shepherd and a painting of the Last Supper from the early 18th century.
