Haldensleben: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Haldensleben can then continue their search for accommodation. The historic centre of Haldensleben is enclosed by a 1.6-kilometre-long town wall. The medieval street layout, with its alleys, squares, half-timbered houses and town towers, has remained almost unchanged.

History and Culture

The Bülstringer Gate Tower was built around 1250–1260. An exhibition in the Bülstringer Gate Tower presents the development of Haldensleben through photographs and reproductions of historical postcards. The historic townscape is complemented by the Equestrian Roland, which is the only one of the 24 surviving Roland statues depicted on horseback.

The Haldensleben Museum has been housed since 1910 in a Neoclassical stucco building constructed in 1865–1866 and includes part of the estate of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. Hundisburg Castle, with its Baroque garden, is a stop on the tourism brand “Garden Dreams – Historical Parks in Saxony-Anhalt”. The landscaped park connects Hundisburg with Althaldensleben and offers opportunities for extended walks.

Landscape and Water

The Börde district stretches from the fertile Börde landscape in the south to the meadows and wetlands of the Drömling in the north. Haldensleben’s location on the Mittelland Canal offers opportunities for water sports at the marina and in Haldensleben’s Rolli-Bad.

Cycle Paths

The Aller-Elbe Cycle Route is approximately 80 kilometres long and connects the Aller Cycle Route with the Elbe Cycle Route. It passes through Haldensleben’s historic old town. The Ohre-Beber Cycle Route forms an approximately 12-kilometre-long route around Haldensleben.

Further Discoveries

The House of the Forest offers interactive forest education through play, discovery and practical activities. The Hundisburg Brickworks Technical Monument combines a brickworks and a technology museum with the production of hand-shaped bricks. It also offers guided tours of the technology museum, courses and regular events.
