The route passes the Forellenhof and continues through the Stelzenbach valley into the forest.

The Apfelstein Route leads through the protected Stelzenbach meadows and passes the Erbenmühle. Below the high point of Rötchen, it reaches the Maria Hilf wayside shrine; from there, on a clear day, the view extends as far as the Taunus. In the Waldfenster area, there are carved sculptures, benches, a forest window, and a tree telephone as a resting point. The fishponds behind Oberelbert offer a waterside resting place. Free parking is available for the Apfelstein Route at the starting point by the Stelzenbachhalle.

Culture

A small wayside shrine stands on the old church path from Oberelbert to Holler. The wayside shrine on the outskirts of Untershausen is decorated with a mosaic Madonna facing St. Margaretha Church in Holler. The wayside shrine likely dates from the time when Oberelbert belonged to the parish of Holler.
