Nature
Near Hermolder, the Ahrbach flows beneath the Montabaur–Limburg road (L318). The Hermolder Bridge is around 18 metres high and supports the almost one-metre-thick Hermolderkugel, which is associated with a local legend about the ringing of bells.
Koppel, also known as Helljerera Koppel, reaches an elevation of 292 metres in the cadastral area of Heiligenroth and offers views across Heiligenroth. The path from the Heiligenroth fairground to Koppelhütte was created around 1950. Halfway along the route is a rest area with views across Heiligenroth. Koppel is home to Koppelhütte and a small seating area; Koppelhütte serves as a shelter.
Culture
The present-day Church of St. Peter and Marcellinus replaced an existing farm church in 1782. The preserved tower next to the church is now used as a bell tower. The former Schlat and Sabel mills have also been preserved and are now used as residential buildings.
Village Life
Heiligenroth’s fair takes place on the Sunday after 2 June. The festivities include decorating and erecting a maypole. The St. Martin’s tradition includes a lantern procession through the village to a bonfire at the multi-generational community area.
At the edge of the forest is the multi-generational community area with play, sports and leisure facilities, as well as two covered picnic shelters. It serves as a rest area for visitors passing through Heiligenroth on foot or by bicycle.
