Nature

Monbijou is a high-quality calcareous grassland known for its abundance of orchids. The dry grasslands there provide a habitat for endangered butterflies, hymenopterans and plants. Kirschbacherhof is also one of the area's notable natural features: in 2016, it was home to 24 breeding pairs of white storks.

History and Architectural Heritage

Dietrichingen was first mentioned in official records in 1295. At the cemetery south of Dietrichingen, a cemetery gate serves as a war memorial for 1914/18. To the north of the village lies the Monbijou estate, with a residential building dating from the second half of the 18th century. The ruins of a Baroque orangery, which was expanded in 1873 and burned out in 1971, have also been preserved there.

The Kirschbacherhof cultural heritage complex north of Dietrichingen comprises a Baroque stucco building as well as alterations in the Renaissance style dating from the early 20th century. Today, Kirschbacherhof is an ecological model farm with Limousin cattle breeding, and it grows einkorn and spelt.
