Near its final stage, the Hahnfels Tour includes spring water and a waterfall. It lies in the Palatinate Forest UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and in the Palatinate Forest Biosphere Reserve FFH protected area.

Hiking

From Erfweiler Ort stop, an unmarked 350-metre footpath leads to the start of the Hahnfels Tour at Belmontplatz. A hiking car park is available at Belmontplatz on Schulstraße in Erfweiler. The Hahnfels Tour can be reached by public transport. Erfweiler has well-marked hiking trails through the Palatinate Forest.

The Felsenland Legends Trail begins in Erfweiler and follows sandy paths through the Palatinate Forest. Its first stage runs from Dahn to Erfweiler and offers views of imposing rocks and castle ruins. The trail is divided into five stages, leads to 26 legendary sites, and is almost 86 kilometres long.
