Hiking

Culture and History

The Fachbach Circular Trail follows an old postal route and passes the Marien-Felsen Chapel. A local legend connects the chapel with women who hid from soldiers during the Thirty Years' War.

The Willi Hufnagel Trail is named after Willi Hufnagel, who is described as a passionate hiker and who campaigned for the preservation of nature and local traditions. The trail offers views across the Lahn Valley. Willi Hufnagel also wrote the first local-history documentation on the history of Fachbach village.

Nieverner Hütte belongs to the municipal area of Fachbach and is described as one of the most impressive industrial monuments in Rhineland-Palatinate. It was founded in 1671, initially produced cannons, and later manufactured cast-iron goods such as cookware, structural castings, stoves, and railings until it closed in 1932.

Water

Alahna SUP rents inflatable and hard stand-up paddleboards for one hour or longer periods. Guided tours on the Lahn and beginner courses offered daily are also available there.
