The Raetian Limes runs directly through Arzbach. Arzbach is located in the Westerwald section of Nassau Nature Park and is designated as a recognized health resort.

Culture and History

Arzbach’s Old Town Hall is a half-timbered building dating from 1710. The half-timbered town hall was handed over to 48 citizens for use on October 9, 1710. The historic Arzbach town hall is included in the Roman Traces route. The village’s Catholic parish church was first mentioned in 1367.

The Stefansturm tower stands on a 423-meter-high basalt cone. The tower can be climbed and offers views over the border area of the former Roman Empire. As a reconstructed building, the Stefansturm illustrates what a Roman watchtower once looked like.

Nature

The Langscheidtal Route leads through the secluded Langscheid Valley and crosses the Limes. The route in the Oberdörfer Bach Valley follows a nature forest reserve. The first 900 meters of the paved section of this route are wheelchair accessible.

The Langscheidtal Route can be reached from Bad Ems by car via the L329 to Arzbach.

Trails

The Wäller Schnippel is a 9.6 km hiking route that passes through Arzbach. It takes around 2.5–3 hours, runs mostly along natural or paved paths with little asphalt, and is classified as moderately difficult. It is also recommended as a stage for cyclists.
