Kettig: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Kettig is described as rural and is associated with the cultivation of apples, cherries, strawberries, and plums. When the fruit trees in and around Kettig are in full bloom, the municipality is described as particularly scenic.

Nature

Herb walks take place annually in the Kettiger Bachtal Landscape Conservation Area. A guided walk with an ornithologist is also held there in May.

The nine-kilometre circular trail Streuobstwiesenweg runs through Kettig and the neighboring municipal areas of Mülheim-Kärlich and Bassenheim. The trail includes an informative fruit-tree nature trail, and an orchard is integrated into the Streuobstwiesenweg. From there, views extend toward the Vulkaneifel, the Neuwied Basin, and the Westerwald.

Culture

Kettig has the parish church of St. Bartholomew. The local fair is celebrated over five days in August; a carnival parade takes place in Kettig every two years.

The municipal council decided to put up information boards at historically significant locations in the village.

Geographical Location

Kettig is a local municipality in the Mayen-Koblenz district of Rhineland-Palatinate and belongs to the Weißenthurm collective municipality. The municipality lies between Koblenz and Andernach, approximately two kilometres inland from the Rhine, on the edge of the Neuwied Basin.

Kettig has direct road connections to the B9, A48, A61, and A3. From the Kettig, Kirche bus stop, a 900-metre access path leads to the orchard and barbecue hut of the Streuobstwiesenweg.
