The signposted Alsenz Valley Cycle Path passes through Oberndorf on its way from Rockenhausen to Alsenz. The Simultankirche St. Valentin church is clearly visible along the cycle path from a long way off. After the final ascent, there is a view of the Alsenz Valley.

The central village square offers hikers and cyclists using the Alsenz Valley Cycle Path a place to rest by the village fountain. There is also a Kneipp barefoot trail along this cycle path. Alsenz railway station is about 2 km away and provides easily accessible connections to the rail network.

Culture

Valentin was first documented as a fortified church in 1128. It is a late Gothic, single-nave building made of unplastered rubble stone and facing east. The church tower has a pyramid roof and sound arcades dating from the 13th century. Inside, there is an elaborate cycle of late Gothic frescoes. The church is open during services.

Village Life

Through the Oberndorfer Carneval Club, Oberndorf is known regionally for North Palatinate carnival. Oberndorf's Aspenberg is a named vineyard site known for producing good-quality wines.
