Petersberg: Exhibition and Nature
At the Schauplatz Petersberg visitor centre, an exhibition in five sections tells the story of the site. One section is devoted to the nature of Petersberg; another covers the building’s former role as a guardhouse and its security features. This places the landscape and the building’s history side by side within the exhibition. The Rheinsteig trail also passes directly by the Schauplatz. Both the exhibition and access to the Schauplatz are barrier-free.

The “Weilberg” model railway depicts the Heisterbach Valley Railway. This narrow-gauge railway ran through the Heisterbach Valley from 1889 to 1950. The model and the workshop focus on different subjects: the former on the history of transport, the latter on a specific craft and its equipment.
The Brückenhof Museum’s special exhibitions feature local and association history, as well as works by local artists. Drachenburg Castle and Heisterbach Abbey

A look inside the rooms offers a different way to explore the past than the model railway or workshop at the Brückenhof Museum: at the castle, domestic culture takes centre stage.
On the fully preserved grounds of Heisterbach Abbey, enclosed by a historic monastery wall, you will find the imposing choir of the former abbey church and several 18th-century buildings. The visible structures point to the former abbey; the choir is part of the former church, not a present-day abbey church.
