Overview
Blomberg is a municipality in Lippe with 19 districts and around 16,000 inhabitants. The town is situated in a hilly landscape.
Culture and History
The Niederntor is the only surviving town gate in Lippe. Blomberg Castle was probably built around the time the town was founded, around 1250. The castle features the 1569 stone bay window, an element of Weser Renaissance architecture.
The history of crafts includes the historic shoemaker's workshop in the Blomberg municipal library at Kuhstraße 16. For a time, the Blomberg shoemakers' guild was the town's strongest craft guild and had more than 100 master craftsmen. Ulmenstein and Vöchting established Blomberg's reputation as the “Carnation Town.”

Nature and Trails
Blomberg Municipal Forest has hiking trails, cycling routes, and Nordic walking trails. There are also benches in quiet locations.
The Nelkenweg is a 42-kilometer route marked by a large “N.” It can be walked in stages; starting and ending are possible at various points.
Around Reelkirchen, signposts have been installed to help visitors explore the area. In front of Reelkirchen's historic church stands a 1,000-year-old linden tree; there is also an 18th-century moated castle there.
The Blomberg Town Walk is listed as a regional hiking route measuring 6.56 kilometers, with 67 meters of elevation gain and a listed duration of 1 hour 45 minutes. The Digital Cycling Route Panoramatour is a 33.39-kilometer regional cycling tour rated “moderate.”
