The Hansaweg begins at Herford railway station. It first follows the Werre, then climbs to the Bismarck Tower, offering scenic views along the way. Another option is the Wittekindsroute. It runs for a total of 143 km through Herford, Bad Salzuflen, Vlotho, Löhne, Kirchlengern, Bünde, Rödinghausen, Spenge and Enger.
