Alt-Godesberg: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Alt-Godesberg is characterized by a 60-meter-high basalt cone on which Godesburg Castle stands. Below this cone, the historic village developed along the Godesberger Bach stream and Burgstraße. Culture

Godesburg Castle is a historic castle ruin on the volcanic cone. A 30-meter-high keep has been preserved; its former uses as a prison and archive are still recognizable. The ruin also contains a restaurant. St. Michael's Chapel in Godesberg is a Baroque architectural monument with elaborate stucco work and ceiling paintings. After being damaged during the destruction of the castle, it was rebuilt in 1660.

Near Alt-Godesberg are Drachenfels, Sonnenberg, and Hirschberg. The surrounding area includes Broderkons Berg and St. Michael's Abbey. In the wider regional area around Alt-Godesberg are Blankenberg Castle, the abandoned quarry above B 478 in the Bröltal valley, and Tomberg Castle Ruins.
