Ganderkesee: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Ganderkesee combines the gently hilly geest landscape, fertile marshland, and species-rich forests and moorlands. The Carnival around the Ring is one of the largest events of its kind in northern Germany and attracts tens of thousands of visitors to Ganderkesee town center every year.

Culture and History

The Hasbruch forest walk begins at the village square in Falkenburg. The Hasbruch Route reaches the De lütje Anja windmill in Habbrügge, where weddings can be held. The municipality promotes exploring its landscape on foot, by bicycle, or on horseback.

Signposted hiking trails in the Wildeshausen Geest lead through moorlands, past lakes, through forests, and along the Hunte River. Ganderkesee has dog-friendly parks, green spaces, and walking paths through forests and meadows.

The Hasbruch Route includes a viewpoint near the hunting lodge overlooking the approximately 630-hectare forest.

Regional Routes

The Wildeshausen Geest offers a signposted cycle network covering 1,200 kilometers, along with 20 themed routes that connect the landscape and cultural heritage. Ganderkesee is one of the railway stations with train connections providing access to the Wildeshausen Geest Nature Park.
