Hude (Oldb) is home to the remains of a former Cistercian monastery. The preserved gatehouse chapel is now St. Elisabeth Church, and the former abbot's house was later converted into a manor house. At the same time, Hude lies within the Hunte catchment area and the Weser river system, in a transition zone between the Delmenhorster Geest and the Wesermarsch. The aquatic landscape includes streams, drainage ditches, standing waters, moorland, and wetlands.

The Hude Planet Trail is a 6-kilometre educational trail between the Pluto model on Lehmweg in Hude and the Sun model in Wüsting. Along the route, stations introduce the planets and planetoids.
