Culture and history
The Alte Kapelle was first mentioned in Isenbüttel in 1534. A sandstone bearing the year 1576 is set into its oak half-timbered west gable. Inside, there is a late Gothic wooden folding altarpiece with two wings. The chapel also has a small organ dating from the 17th century, described as one of the oldest and most valuable organs in the Gifhorn district.
The Alte Kapelle is designated as a place of rest and reflection. It is not open to the public outside of church services.
Exploring Calberlah
A bicycle tour exploring the local history passes through Calberlah. The town's history also includes the fact that Calberlah once had a brickworks. Calberlah railway station was already in operation in 1904.
