Upleward's dry beach is a 9,000-square-metre recreational, play, and sports facility with sand directly behind the dike. It includes a pirate ship, water play area, seating areas, and facilities for volleyball and beach soccer.

Water

The inland waters of Krummhörn extend toward Emden and the Großes Meer in Südbrookmerland. There are moorings and rental boats that allow visitors to explore the area on the water.
