Bömighausen combines a swimming break and a day of hiking with varied landscapes. Swimming is possible in Kleinsee. The trails lead to Grotenberg for panoramic views, into a side valley of the Neerdarbach or through a meadow valley. This lets you plan your stay around specific activities.

Hiking trails with their own character

B1 and B2 differ in length and character. At 3.10 kilometres, B1 is shorter than the 7.37-kilometre B2 and is considered an easy circular trail. It follows the Uplandsteig and includes a detour to Kleinsee. A shelter along B1 offers a place to rest. B2 follows the Uplandsteig for part of the way and leads to Grotenberg, which offers panoramic views. Its route also includes an idyllic side valley of the Neerdarbach and a Kneipp facility, providing an opportunity for a refreshing, health-promoting break.

B3 offers a different landscape focus: it climbs uphill to a former railway station. The return to Bömighausen passes through the varied landscape of a meadow valley. So B2 offers panoramic views from Grotenberg, while B3 offers a valley route back—two different options for a day of hiking.

Getting your bearings locally

The Willingen-Bömighausen circular trail (B2) starts and ends at the Bömighausen hiking car park by the village community centre. Bömighausen can be reached from Willingen station by bus or on-call shared taxi (AST); possible stops are Dorfstraße and Auf dem Burlande. Check the connections and timetable for your travel day. There is also a campsite right by the water in Bömighausen.

When looking for a holiday apartment in Bömighausen, your preferred way to spend the day can be a good starting point: would you like your stay to centre on swimming in Kleinsee, the shorter easy circuit or a longer tour with views? The trails offer different options to consider, without requiring you to treat their routes or features as the same.

In the wider destination of Willingen (Upland), the Uplandsteig circles the municipality, passing through all nine districts. This 66-kilometre trail is a certified quality hiking trail. Its landscapes include mixed forest, beech forest and fir forest, as well as open fields, flowering meadows and marshland.
